• Student and Early-Career Conference Travel and Training Grants

Are you hoping to share your research with resource managers at a conservation conference or attend a workshop to build your skills as a conservation paleobiologist?

The International Network for Conservation Paleobiology will be re-opening the call for Conference Travel and Training Grants to support student and early-career members. These grants are intended to fund participation in conferences, training workshops, and other professional experiences outside of more traditional geoscience opportunities —particularly those related to conservation, management, and restoration. This funding call aims to advance the network’s goal of promoting connections between early-career researchers and conservation practitioners to develop conservation paleobiology as an interdisciplinary, applied science and to invest in its future.

Funds will be available to support a variety of activities, namely: 1) attending and/or presenting original conservation paleobiology work at conferences, workshops, or other meetings; 2) participating in training programs related to conservation paleobiology; and 3) convening conservation paleobiology sessions at relevant conferences that generally do not include content focused on conservation paleobiology.

There will be an bi-annual call for applications. Please check back soon for more information regarding the timeline for grants and the application deadline. We are now able to support international travel and applications from members affiliated with institutions worldwide.
